Fifth ITT Technical Institute in Ohio Opens Near Columbus

Oct 10, 2003

ITT Educational Services, Inc. (NYSE: ESI) opened its 76th ITT Technical Institute in Hilliard, OH near Columbus. Classes at the new college began with the fall quarter, as students enrolled in the associate degree program in Information Technology -- Computer Network Systems.

"The growth curve for careers involving technology continues to offer tremendous potential. I do not think we have seen the limit of how technological advancements will continue to change our world. I continue to believe that new technologies will create numerous entry-level career opportunities for ITT Tech graduates," said Rene R. Champagne, chairman and CEO.

The new ITT Tech in Hilliard offers the following associate degree programs of study: Computer Drafting and Design, Computer and Electronics Engineering Technology, and Information Technology-Computer Network Systems, Information Technology-Multimedia, Information Technology-Software Applications and Programming, and Information Technology-Web Development.

Part of each associate degree program of study will be taught online, thus reducing the amount of time students must attend weekly classes at the campus. Students can complete weekly assignments in the online courses at any time during the week that is most convenient for them based on their schedules.

General education courses include subjects designed to help students develop skills in written and verbal communication, problem solving, teamwork and group dynamics. Potential employers typically identify these skills, often referred to as "soft skills," as desired abilities they seek when hiring technology graduates.

Most ITT Technical Institute programs of study have been designed to blend traditional academic content with applied learning concepts taught in a laboratory environment to allow students the opportunity for hands-on application of the academic theory taught.

The ITT Technical Institute in Hilliard offers classes year round with convenient breaks provided throughout the year. Classes in residence courses typically meet four to five hours per day, in either a morning, afternoon or evening session to allow students greater convenience while juggling the responsibilities of school, work and family.
